This simple children’s song is one I had not thought of in years. When I taught in a Christian school the kids would get real animated (and loud) on this song. They would shout and do motions when they got to the words BIG, STRONG and MIGHTY. After spending a week at Lake Erie and seeing the lake very rough and choppy for a couple of days and then serene and calm one night it made me think of our Mighty God and this little chorus. He is big and strong and powerful yet He is also calm and gentle seeking to bring peace. There really is nothing He can’t do. Sometimes it’s nice to stop being so complicated, to just be simple and allow songs such as this to speak to our spirit and help us focus on our amazing God.
Our God Is So Big
Our God is so big,
So strong, and so mighty—
There’s nothing our God cannot do.
(clap, clap)
(repeat)
The mountains are His;
The valleys are His;
The stars are His handiwork, too.
Our God is so big,
So strong, and so mighty—
There’s nothing our God cannot do.
(clap, clap)
