Throughout this long, dark night, there is a Savior;
A Comforter, a Guide and a faithful Friend,
To walk each trying step right there beside you,
To lend His strength till you reach this trial’s end.
At times when you feel lonely or abandoned,
Afraid to face another day’s weary cares,
Lift up your eyes and meet the gaze of Jesus;
There’s not a moment of grief He will not share.
His heart’s compassion covers you with mercy;
His tender love pours forth in amazing grace;
His blessed peace surrounds you with assurance
He’ll carry you till you meet Him face-to-face.
Face-to-face, blessed meeting . . .
With the One who ransomed you.
Face-to-face, joyous greeting . . .
Through this long, dark night ~
This dark night of your soul ~
He’ll hold you close and never abandon you . . .
Jesus will carry you through.
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for those who are gracious and compassionate
and righteous. . . . .Psalm 112:4 NIV
